BIO

I have been an artist for over thirty years, and 10 years ago I decided to start going to drawing groups to hone my craft with portraits.

During those sessions, I seriously thought about posing for artists and get their interpretation of me.  I decided to start my own drawing group along with other artists that were interested in posing as well.  We were certainly a more laid back group taking turns posing and sketching each other.

Seven years ago, I had cancer called Squamus Cell Carcinoma (cancer of the tongue).  My weight dropped from 180 lbs to my current 124 lbs. This put my group on hold as I had to concentrate on my health first.  My self-esteem was the lowest it had ever been.

It took a lot for me to get my confidence back regarding my body image and after an absence of a year in 2017, I contacted my group and we got together.  The group was very supportive and that gave me the confidence I needed to start modeling again. February and March of 2018 were busy with modeling for two other groups. Photos of my sessions are included on the Personal Poses Page, that also includes photography poses..

Since 2021I have been a regular model for NSCAD (Nova Scotia College of Art and Design), for a painting class and therefore, had to sustain the same pose for 3 hours. No easy feat, I can honestly say.

I am an active member of the Peggy's Cove Area Festival of the Arts and very busy during the month of July.  The fall and winter season is when the art groups start again and I can concentrate on the modeling side.

I have had several artistic photo shoots which helped for the poses required for the art groups.
