ABOUT

Fabien Barabé is an artist/cartoonist from Montreal, Quebec. He is a self taught artist who has been active in painting when he moved to Nove Scotia with his husband in 1997. His first love was drawing comic book super-hero that he did for 20 years and then moved on to cartooning in 1993 with the Spice of Life that was published from 1994 to 1996 in two Montreal papers.  Now his cartooning has come full circle by reintroducing Johnny Spice in his own cartoon and incorporating Fabien's naturist side.  Fabien has been quoted in saying' "Clothing is so overated".

I am happy to present my latest creation; The Secret Life of a Naturist.

I was born last of eleven siblings and my husband John and I moved to Nova Scotia in 1997.  Because of my love of the province, John thought I should try acrylic painting.

Nova Scotia and its surroundings is the source of many of my works that have inspired me over the years. My imagination shows no bounds when it comes to materials that I use to create unique pieces.

I first got involved in art at an early age by creating a super-hero comic that I did for over 20 years much to the delight of my many nieces and nephews. I had the Spice of Life published in two Montreal papers from 1995 to 1996.

Currently, my latest cartoon The Secret Life of a Naturist is a sequel to the Spice of Life as the protagonist is Johnny Spice all grown up and in a relationship with his University sweetheart Dan Fogel who is a Naturist.

The Secret Life of a Naturist is published each Saturday in Clothesfreelife Magazine (link on Main Page) and has grown in popularity on my various social media accounts.

The cartoon is loosely based on my relationship with my husband John as I am a naturist and John is not.  "I find clothing overated and enjoy the freedom that nudity brings" I've often been quoted in saying.  (You can find the link to my Blog on Wordpress on the Main Page: Naturist Fab and the Acceptance of Body Image.

I hope you enjoy the cartoon as much as I do in creating it.

Fabien
